Podcast: Matt Stutzman

Lancaster Archery Supply founder and president Rob Kaufhold talks with Matt Stutzman, “The Armless Archer,” in this wide-ranging podcast that essentially spans Stutzman’s entire life and archery career.

An Iowa husband and father of three, Stutzman was born in 1982 with no arms. There’s no medical reason he was born that way, doctors said. It just happened.

In this podcast, you will learn:

– What it was like for Stutzman to grow up with no arms in a family that allowed him to try anything, but didn’t coddle him.

– How his upbringing prepared him for life and for a career in archery.

– How he came to find archery, and how he learned to shoot.

– That there’s another young man out there who also shoots a bow with his feet.

– What Stutzman has accomplished so far in archery, including winning a silver medal at the 2012 London Paralympic Games.

– What his goals are going forward.

“The only limit you have is what you put on yourself,” Stutzman said. “My goal over the course of the next three years is to prove that, even though I have no arms, I can compete with the best in the world, and hopefully on good days, I can beat them.”
