2016 LAS Bowhunter’s Extravaganza Serves Up Good Times

Lancaster Archery Supply’s 2016 Bowhunter’s Extravaganza Aug. 19-20 was a celebration of bowhunting and bowhunters. We were mobbed by people who share our passion for chasing wild game with stick and string.

story1

Many came in looking for the best bowhunting gear and LAS expertise. Others stopped by looking to have some fun – to share hunting stories and laughs.

The annual equipment auction on the Lancaster Archery Academy’s main shooting range Saturday was packed with over 200 people bidding on closeout items. LAS president and founder Rob  Kaufhold says the annual auction is all about fun and giving back to the bowhunting community. Thousands of dollars worth of gear was given away as door prizes.

story6

“This isn’t about making money,” Kaufhold said. “We’re here to have a good time with all of you.”

story3

Upstairs in the Pro Shop and outside in the clearance tent, LAS staff  members hustled to help customers find everything they need for the upcoming hunting seasons. They also provided expert service in setting up that gear and instruction on how to use it.

story5

Medical staff associated with The Rehab Center was on site providing free health screenings to hunters looking to see what kind of condition they’re in as the season approaches. They checked blood pressure, gave short endurance tests to monitor heart rate and tested hunters’ range of motion to make sure they can physically draw and hold a bowstring. Hunting can be a demanding game. You need to be in shape for it.

Outside the Pro Shop, Schatz’s Food Service made sure everyone was kept well-fed.

LAS president and founder Rob Kaufhold introduces Jared Wade.

After the doors to the Extravaganza closed at 6 p.m. Saturday, Nashville country music artist Jared Wade – who also happens to be an avid bowhunter – took the stage for a free concert.

More than 100 people sprawled out on the lawn adjacent to the rear Pro Shop parking lot to hear Wade perform a mix of original songs and covers of some country classics.

Wade’s set ended just as the sun slipped behind the treeline to the west. It was the perfect ending to a perfect day.

The Extravaganza is an event that involves every employee of LAS. It’s something the company looks forward to, and prepares for, all year long, because it’s a chance for us to interact with large numbers of customers in a communal setting.

We are as excited about the upcoming bowhunting season as you are.

LAS Bowhunter’s Extravaganza, Jared Wade Concert

Lancaster Archery Supply’s Bowhunter’s Extravaganza and Jared Wade concert are coming up fast. And you won’t want to miss either.

The extravaganza is scheduled for 9 a.m.-9 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 19, and from 8 a.m.-6 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 20.

A Nashville recording artist, Wade will take the stage just as the extravaganza closes its doors at 6 p.m. Saturday.

The extravaganza, of course, is Lancaster Archery Supply’s annual pre-bowhunting season blowout. We’ve got tons of in-store-only deals, so you’ll have to come out to the Pro Shop at 2195-A Old Philadelphia Pike in order to take advantage of them.

Among the deals we’re offering are discounts on every bow in stock. We’ll also have a tent set up outside the Pro Shop that will be stuffed to the gills with all sorts of gear marked at unbelievable prices.

From 1-6 p.m. Friday, and 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday, you can make sure you’re in shape for the coming season by participating in a free health screening done by professionals from The Rehab Center – Ephrata.

The annual equipment auction is scheduled for 9 a.m. Saturday on the main shooting range of the Lancaster Archery Academy, below the Pro Shop. Registration for the auction opens at 7:30 a.m.

Saturday night’s performance by Wade will be his second at the LAS Extravaganza. The Georgia native is an avid bowhunter, when he’s not out on tour to support his latest album, “Drunk on Sunshine,” opening for big-name acts such as Luke Bryan and Confederate Railroad.

His performance at last year’s extravaganza was a big hit, which is why he’s back again this year. Admission is free. Seating will be off the parking lot on the west side of the Pro Shop, near the outdoor shooting range.

The 2015 Bowhunter’s Extravaganza was a smash success

Lancaster Archery Supply’s 2015 Bowhunter’s Extravaganza Aug. 21-22 was a huge success.

The LAS team rolled out the red carpet, and scores of bowhunters stopped by to check out special deals on all the gear they’ll need in the woods and fields this season.

Beautiful weather both days of the event kept the sales action hot inside and outside the Pro Shop at 2195-A Old Philadelphia Pike, Lancaster, Pa.

On Friday night, we hosted the Outdoor Film Festival, which drew a nice crowd for the free screening of several hunts from across North America. Folks lounged on lawn chairs, blankets and straw bales under the stars until close to midnight.

The action started out hot Saturday, with the annual equipment auction, which was packed with bidders looking for unbelievable deals. Seminars from several hunting experts followed, and Schatz’s Food Service made sure nobody went hungry throughout the day.

In the end, tons of equipment was sold, lots of hunting stories were shared and many new friends were made.

We hope you had as much fun at this year’s event as we did. If you couldn’t make it out, check out these photos to see what you missed.
