Lancaster Archery Supply is going global

Lancaster Archery Supply, the worldwide leader in 3D, traditional, bowhunting and target archery gear, is going global.

For more than two decades, Lancaster Archery Supply has served archers and dealers with archery equipment all over the world through our dealers, catalog, LAS Express trailers and website. But to get professional, hands-on service and coaching from our TechXPerts and instructors, archers have had to come to our one Pro Shop and Academy location in Lancaster, Pa.

Located in southeast Pennsylvania, between Philadelphia and the state capital of Harrisburg, Lancaster is America’s oldest inland city and was the nation’s capital on September 27, 1777 during the Revolutionary War after Philadelphia was taken by the Brits.

Two of the most common products needed by pioneers heading west to settle the frontier were manufactured in Lancaster – the Conestoga Wagon and the Pennsylvania long rifle.

Just as his ancestors provided for westward traveling settlers 300 years ago, Rob Kaufhold, founder and president of Lancaster Archery Supply, feels it’s time for the company to expand its physical presence to outfit archers at locations across the globe.

We are now pleased to announce that we will be bringing our expert customer service and coaching to 28 cities around the world, where we plan to open state-of-the-art Pro Shops and academies.

Because the Lancaster Archery Supply brand and logo are so iconic within the archery community – and to avoid the exorbitant cost and time-consuming effort of changing those company features to match different city names – Kaufhold has decided to direct his expansion efforts to every Lancaster in the world. Besides maintaining our brand integrity, opening facilities in these other Lancasters will give us the chance to educate local citizenry about the correct pronunciation of our shared name.

Far too often, we hear people from outside Lancaster, Pa., pronounce the word as “LAN-kas-ter” or “lang-CASS-ter,” when the one true pronunciation is “LANK-ister.”

By April 1, 2019, LAS plans to open the doors of new facilities in the following U.S. locations:

Lancaster, Arizona

Lancaster, California

Lancaster, Illinois

Lancaster, Indiana – We will be at both Lancasters in this state – in Huntington County and Jefferson County

Lancaster, Kansas

Lancaster, Kentucky

Lancaster, Massachusetts

Lancaster, Minnesota

Lancaster, Missouri

Lincoln, Nebraska – It’s currently called Lincoln, but the city was originally named Lancaster when it was picked as the first capitol of Nebraska in 1867.

Lancaster, New Hampshire

Lancaster, New York

Lancaster, Ohio

Lancaster, Oregon

Lancaster, South Carolina

Lancaster, Tennessee

Lancaster, Texas

Lancaster, Virginia

Lancaster, Wisconsin

In Canada, we will have facilities in:

Lancaster, New Brunswick

Lancaster, Newfoundland and Labrador

Lancaster, Ontario

Lancaster Sound, Nunavut

Global expansion plans include the following locations named Lancaster in United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand and Guyana.

“It just makes sense to only expand to cities and locations named Lancaster due to the brand strength and recognition of Lancaster Archery Supply in our industry,” Kaufhold said.  “Our companies expansion into these additional Lancaster locations will bring great economic vitality and growth opportunities for the sport of archery worldwide.”

Heck, of working for a company that has an archery range where you are encouraged to spend some or all of your break time?

Lancaster Archery Supply, the world’s largest archery supplier, is looking for several people who are knowledgeable and passionate about archery to fill key, full- and part-time positions.

Bryan teach

Here’s what the company is looking for.

  • Lancaster Archery Academy Instructors – The Academy is a learning and training center for archers of all levels – from those who have never before picked up a bow, to those training for the Olympics and/or World Cup events. The Academy needs energetic, outgoing individuals to serve as instructors, who can teach individuals and groups about the sport, help run tournaments and classes and perform a variety of other functions aimed at growing the sport of archery.
  • Pro Shop TechXperts – TechXpert is a term Lancaster Archery created to refer to its “technical experts.” The Pro Shop is 10,000 square feet dedicated to all forms of archery – compound target and 3-D, Olympic recurve, bowhunting, traditional and recreational. TechXperts are responsible for everything from helping customers select the right equipment in all of those disciplines, to repairing and setting up bows and arrows, to instructing customers on how to use various pieces of archery equipment – all in a fast-paced environment.
  • Customer Service TechXperts – The Customer Service Department is staffed by TechXperts who handle phone calls from customers seeking advice on choosing the right archery equipment and placing orders with the company. LAS needs technically-minded workers who enjoy working with the public in helping them advance their archery knowledge and skill.

All Lancaster Archery employees receive a discount on archery equipment, and full-time employees also receive 401K and health care benefits.

The archery community is a fun-loving, tight-knit group. For many current Lancaster Archery Supply employees, archery is more than just a hobby. It’s a way of life, and so they’ve been with the company for 10 years or more.

LAS heads to the NRA Great American Outdoor Show

Lancaster Archery Supply will have a major presence at the Great American Outdoor Show in Harrisburg Feb. 4-12.

Run by the National Rifle Association, the show held at the State Farm Show Complex, 2300 Cameron St., Harrisburg, PA, is the largest consumer show of its kind in the world.

Featuring over 1,000 exhibitors who will occupy 650,000 square feet, the Great American Outdoor Show is a festival of firearms, archery, hunting, fishing, boating and other outdoors interests.

Lancaster Archery Supply has been a long-time exhibitor at the show, and will occupy 900 square feet just inside the main door to the Archery Hall in booth No. 901.

The show gives Lancaster Archery Supply a chance to spread its brand awareness to a wide audience, and to meet with distant customers who come to the show every year just to shop and visit with the LAS team.

The shop’s booth will feature the latest and greatest in archery and bowhunting gear, as well as special, show-only deals on select products. (Show-only deals also will be honored at the LAS Pro Shop during the show, for those customers who can’t make it to Harrisburg.)

Also, many of Lancaster Archery Supply’s world-renowned bow technicians will be at the booth throughout the show, so if you’re having issues with your rig, bring it on by and have the experts take a look at it.

Show hours are 9 a.m.-7 p.m. on Saturdays; 10 a.m.-5 p.m. on Sundays; and 10 a.m.-7 p.m. on weekdays.
