Experience archery with Lancaster Archery Supply at Lancaster Barnstormers game July 17

Lancaster Archery Supply, Inc. is returning to Clipper Magazine Stadium July 17 for Outdoors Night, as the Lancaster Barnstormers take on the York Revolution. Game time is scheduled for 7 p.m.

Following his successful debut in June, Lancaster Archery’s Justus Leimbach will once again “throw out” the first pitch by shooting a foam-tipped arrow from the pitching mound to a Barnstormers’ catcher behind home plate. Come out and see if Justus can deliver another strike.

Beginning at 5:45 p.m., and running through the end of the game, Lancaster Archery Academy will have its S.A.F.E. Archery booth set up at the stadium, where kids and adults alike can try shooting a bow and arrow in a controlled, safe environment. The booth will be staffed by Academy instructors, and by members of Lancaster’s Junior Olympic Archery Development (JOAD) team.

Anyone who shoots at the booth during the game will receive a free bracelet from Lancaster Archery Academy, and will have the opportunity to enter a drawing to win a Hoyt Ignite compound bow or a birthday party at Lancaster Archery Academy.

Lancaster Archery Academy and the Barnstormers are teaming up to make Discover Archery classes available to 150 Cub Scouts at the game. By completing this class, the Scouts can earn their Archery Belt Loops.

S.A.F.E. Archery is a big hit at Lancaster Barnstormers game

Lancaster Archery Supply employee Justus Leimbach “threw” the ceremonial first pitch at the Lancaster Barnstormers baseball game against the York Revolution June 19, 2015, at Clipper Magazine Stadium in downtown Lancaster. Naturally, Leimbach did it LAS style, using a S.A.F.E. Archery bow and arrow to deliver a strike over the heart of the plate. LAS videographer Silas Crews captured the whole thing on video.

Afterwards, scores of kids got the chance to try the Students and Families Experiencing (S.A.F.E.) Archery equipment for themselves in the Lancaster Archery Academy booth. The S.A.F.E. arrows have large foam tips, making them safer to shoot than standard arrows. They can be shot indoors without special netting or anywhere outdoors. The S.A.F.E. Archery gear is perfect for introducing kids to the sport of archery.
